  • My Favorite Sport: wrestling
  • What I do for fun: crack jokes, nobody can tell a better joke than me
  • Where you’ll find me: stretched out in front of the fireplace reading The Arabian Nights
  • Obstacles: My family has to pinch pennies. I can’t go to school much because I have to work on the farm.
  • I’m best known for: being President of the United States during the Civil War, 1861-1865
  • Did you know? Folks call me lazy because I’m always reading, but to me reading is working.

  • My Birthday: July 24th
  • My Hometown: Atchison, Kansas
  • My Brothers and Sisters: one younger sister, Muriel (nicknamed Pidge)
  • My Best Friends: Pidge, Ralphie, Jared
  • My Favorite Drink: chocolate milk
  • My Favorite Sport: it’s hard to choose, I love both basketball and baseball
  • What I do for fun: all the stuff boys do, catching insects, mud fighting, hunting rats, riding horses, and I could go on and on
  • Where you’ll find me: in the barn riding my grandma’s old carriage on an imaginary journey to Africa
  • Obstacles: People try to stop me from doing things just because I’m a girl, boys always get to be the hero.
  • I’m best known for: being the first woman to fly an airplane solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 1932
  • Did you know? At times I feel like an outcast. Some girls laugh at my clothing and call me a tomboy. There are parents who don’t let their daughters play with me. But, I’m proud to be me.

  • My birthday: February 11th
  • My Hometown: I was born in Ohio but I grew up in Port Huron, Michigan
  • My family: I’m the youngest of seven children
  • My Favorite Food: apple dumplings
  • My Favorite Game: marbles
  • What I do for fun: I build things like cockroach traps.
  • Where you’ll find me: mixing chemicals in the laboratory I set-up in the cellar
  • Obstacles: I did poorly in school and felt like a misfit there. My teacher didn’t think I would amount to anything.
  • I’m best known for: being a famous inventor, my invention that changed the world was the electric light bulb in 1879, many of my inventions have evolved into modern day things such as, movie projectors and CD players
  • Did you know? As a child I began losing my hearing. But, being deaf helps me concentrate and drives me to read more.
