Our History

For years families have searched in vain for children’s history books that would both educate and entertain. It is with this objective that AmeriTales Entertainment™ was founded. Our book series introduces historical American leaders to children in a fun and engaging way.

Founded in 2005 and headquartered in San Diego, California, AmeriTales Entertainment™ is the only character-based family entertainment, publishing and licensing brand devoted to introducing American History to children.

Our Mission

At AmeriTales our mission is to make history accessible to all children. By adopting the popular story-telling technique of action-adventure stories, AmeriTales has developed a new way to introduce young readers to American History.

We have partnered with teachers to ensure that our stories will not only entertain children but help them to learn and grow. All of our titles have an underlying lesson about American values that parents and teachers can be pleased to share with children.

Our Dream

Our dream is for every child to have a dream. What’s your dream?

Our Authors

T.D. Carter is the author of the first three titles in the AmeriTales book series. With the AmeriTales series, Carter seeks to make real-life American heroes relevant to today’s kids by focusing on the adventurous and sometimes mischievous childhood of these great leaders. As an advocate of childhood literacy, Carter utilizes the popular action-hero story-telling technique to introduce children to American History.

While Carter writes to entertain, she also writes with a purpose. Each AmeriTales story provides a valuable lesson in character education. In fact, Carter has been recognized for her efforts to create quality family-friendly books. Her debut book, Abraham Lincoln and the Forest of Little Pigeon Creek, received a Mom’s Choice Award.

Xandy Sussan practically grew up on television sets. As a young child, her father, a commercial producer, and her mother, a commercial stylist, would bring her to work with them. They tried to turn her into the next Shirley Temple but, writing was her first love. Sussan completed New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Dramatic Writing program. For the last 10 years she has been writing children’s books and scripts for animated and prime time television series. As a writer, Sussan draws many of her ideas from her childhood growing up as a latch key kid in New York City.
